Weekly News #11

SOURCE- AL JAZEERA NEWS: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/12/dozens-syrian-civilians-killed-air-strikes-151213044411982.html

After basing most of my past weekly news posts on 'news' gathered from BBC & SKY news (who are run/controlled by the UK Government and clearly bias towards them), I decided to gather my information from a different source this week in the hope to gain a different perspective on the fatal bombings being carried out in Syria. I gathered my information from the Arabic news reporters 'Al Jazeera' and this particular news report immediately stood out to me as it featured a child who looked badly injured. After looking at BBC news the report on the conflict in Syria, the report stated that Russia has strictly been targeting the position of IS groups in Syria, it also commented on how America are concerned Russia are also bombing non-targeted areas in order to 'shore up'  its ally; Syrian President Assad. According to Al Jazeera news at least 41 civilians (including 9 children) were killed during the attacks on Douma where they claim even a school was hit. This news is a clear reminder that even though the news we consume is supposed to be reliable, it is only a countries version of the truth and governments may use it in order to make the population feel a particular way about a certain situation or group of people, ultimately in order to either gain power and/or make money. Unfortunately it has become apparent  that many countries will stop at nothing in order to completely 'destroy' ISIS, even if it means thousands or possibly even millions of innocent civilians could be killed, the world watched America obliterate the lives of many innocent people living in japan when hundreds of thousands of people were killed by atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. It would be of no surprise if some particular countries in todays current world would be committed to carrying out the same horrific devastation if it meant ISIS would be 'destroy'ed, the medias job if something as severe as that did go through would be to justify fellow allies actions in the hope people would soon forgot about the horrors innocent people had suffered, exactly like how America claimed there was no other option but to kill hundreds of thousands of people in Japan in order to end the war.

Weekly News #10

BBC WORLD NEWS: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-35035190

According to BBC news 'Donald Trump urges to ban Muslims from entering the US', I thought this was a disgusting 'campaign statement' made by Donald Trump after the deadly California shootings that took place last week. Trump made this obscene statement after a supposedly radicalised couple opened fire killing 14 people last week, I think it is ridiculous how as soon as a mass shooting is supposedly carried out by a 'radicalised' couple that the situation becomes much worse that the more common psychopathic murderer even though many mass shootings occur in the US all the time. As many people follow and believe in what Donald Trump campaigns against in America (maybe due to his insane amount of wealth) racism is sure to intensify for Muslims living in America. Donald Trumps clear insane intentions could be compared to the likes of Adolf Hitler as his extreme racist thoughts have been displayed through this statement, by making this statement after the attack many Muslims will face more from discrimination as Trump is grouping and portraying them all as being dangerous terrorists, when that is obviously not the truth. As many people are absorbed in and believe the media their views and opinions will change on the particular religious group, resulting in them being viewed in a different light just because of the action of two people who share the same religion, even though in further investigation one of the shooters has been deemed to have a mental illness, and most probably carried out the shooting for the exact same reason the majority of mass shootings are in America, because he was psychopathic. Lastly I think it is scary how someone with such extreme views like Donald Trump could possibly be the president of the US, it is clear he possess extreme views on the particular religious group ( just like Hitlers extreme views on Jewish people ) and that if he ever did get elected his actions against Muslim people could be devastating for the world to watch.

Weekly News- #9

SOURCE-SKY NEWS: http://news.sky.com/story/1596885/amazon-delivery-drone-can-travel-15-miles

In this weeks news I discovered that 'Amazon' have created a hybrid drone that is able to travel as far as 15 miles at high speed, and successfully deposit a package safely in someones back garden, safety features allow the drone to be extremely manoeuvrable avoiding obstacles and delivering the package in a designated landing site. In previous weekly news posts I have commented on how newly developed medication and ever improving technology has and is going to save and improve peoples lives in the future. I thought the news of a delivery drone is also an invention which if made possible will revolutionise peoples lives as they may need an item delivered quicker than the average postman, if 'Amazon' proceed with developing the hybrid drone items may be able to be delivered on the day due to it being able to travel 15 miles in a short space of time, according to the promotion video. I found this piece of news very exciting as many people would enjoy the fast delivery service if made possible, and I think the experience would be made much more interesting by having a drone alert you of an incoming delivery and then proceed to land in you're back garden!

Gone Girl- Film Analysis

'Gone Girl' is a 2014 drama/phycological thriller directed by David Fincher, themes of mystery, murder and family are evident throughout the film. I thought 'Gone Girl' cleverly played on how many peoples' opinions on people and events change as individuals are so absorbed by the current media, and unfortunately in reality a lot of people (like done in the film) believe whatever the purposely constructed media reports on. We see peoples opinions on Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) change multiple times in the film as he is portrayed to be someone he is not, we find this out as the film cleverly follows two narratives. We are clearly shown as the media being able to report on the shocking story of how an abusive husband killed his loving wife, (and ultimately rinse the situation of money as they even broadcast a show from their house) that many people around America suddenly become more engaged in the media due to this story being relatable to their own lives causing more action being taken than usual, this dramatic protest against Nick Dunne is displayed as we see the number of news reporters camped outside his home.

While watching the film we see the multi-protaganist narrative switch between Nick Dunne and his wife Amy Dunne, this at first makes us sympathise with Amy as her diary connotes the mental and physical abuse she has suffered in this one sided relationship, this use of the diary entry immediately makes us believe what the vulnerable Amy is saying as Nick doesn't exactly come across as the 'good guy' due to him only being shown from the outset as a predator. In the opening scene of the film we get an insight into what he is thinking as he describes cracking his wifes skull and watching her brains pour out, this graphic detail immediately infers that he is extremely violent, when truly this is not the case as this scene is chronologically reversed. We see this same scene occur at the end of the film after Amy Dunne's clear insanity is displayed through her extreme plans to imprison her not so bad husband, this then completely changes are opinions on the two protagonists as we now begin to emphasise with Nick.

In conclusion I thought this film cleverly delivered the message of how influential the media is in todays society, we are able to see the power the media possess as peoples opinions can completely change from wanting to kill someone to chanting his name due to him being portrayed differently in the media. The multi-protagonist narrative was key in doing this as throughout the film we begin to learn Amy's story isn't actually the truth as she strives to meet her goal of framing her husband and Nick who isn't deemed maybe as the protagonist at first strives to meet his goal of finding his wife. I think there was an ironic element to the film as the audiences opinions were completely juxtaposed to the views taken by the audience in the film as we get a real insight into Amy's clear brutal psychopathic personality, where as the audience in the film due to the media only see her as 'Amazing Amy' , this again emphasises the power the media have on controlling many peoples opinions around the globe.

Weekly News #8

SOURCE:BBC WORLD NEWS: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-34898931

According to BBC World News 'US scientists have bred a genetically modified (GM) mosquito that can resist malaria infection.' This means if the theory works then the offspring created by GM mosquitos will not be able to pass on the parasite that causes malaria. This could be a huge breakthrough for scientists as around 3.2 billion people (almost half of the worlds population) are at risk from the life threatening disease if untreated, I personally was amazed by this article as it is clear scientific knowledge and technology is advancing as many amazing breakthroughs and procedures are going forward which wouldn't of even been thought of as possible in recent decades. In comparison to this GM mosquito that scientists have created I also saw earlier this week that the first full face transplant had been successful in giving a man who had suffered from severe burns the most 'extensive' facial transplant in history. I found both of these articles fascinating as it is evident that as scientific knowledge and technology improves, only more cures and procedures are being developed and concluding in unbelievable results for people effected by disease or injuries that would of been deemed incurable only a decade a go.

Understanding Audience- Christmas Adverts

Man On The Moon- John Lewis: https://youtu.be/wuz2ILq4UeA
Monty The Penguin-John Lewis: https://youtu.be/iccscUFY860
Holidays Are Coming-Coca Cola: https://youtu.be/-gMjPezr8TY

All three of these advertisements were constructed by both John Lewis and Coca Cola in order to promote their products and make the audience feel like they needed the various products shown in the adverts in order for Christmas to be enjoyable and festive, this was done cleverly in the John Lewis advert as it tried to focus on making the audience feel sympathetic towards the 'Man On The Moon' when really product promotion is the real purpose for all advertisements.

When using the 'Users and Gratification Theory' to analyse these adverts it is clear all three adverts contain either ;family, friendship and compassion causing most of its audience to respond passively as we may feel sympathy for the lonely man on the moon as we know someone elderly who will be alone this Christmas. This sympathetic emotion towards the old man on the moon is felt by members of the audience as the advert is constructed purposely in this way in order for the audience to compare their lives and circumstances with those featured in the advertisement, possibly resulting in people purchasing items from John Lewis just because they felt sorry for the fictional old man they saw on the tele at home. This advert delivered the clear message of loneliness at Christmas as it dramatised how old people may feel on this special occasion usually associated with happiness and family, this strong message also allows people to socially converse around the topic possibly leading to a shopping trip to John Lewis as the advert cleverly displays much of the Christmas range at the shops through out the advert. In comparison to the John Lewis advert the Coca Cola advert also features a young innocent child who is amazed by the Coca Cola truck as it passes them by. The advert includes traditional western style Christmas decorations as everywhere in the street is filled with colourful Christmas lights, this immediately gives off a happy festive feeling as most people viewing the advert take part in this celebration every year. This advert connotes that you need Coca Cola in order for you're Christmas to be as happy as it is for the various families featured in the advert, it implies this joyful festive feeling by filling the advert with as many decorations and objects associated with Christmas as possible, resulting in the audience singing the catchy 'Holidays Are Coming'  tune while buying a crate of bottled Coca Cola in order for their Christmas holidays to be as happy and festive as the families featured in the notorious Coca Cola advert.

Weekly News #7

SOURCE-BBC UK NEWS- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34839800

In the UK BBC news this week i discovered that Islamic State are plotting deadly cyber attacks on the UK, according to Chancellor George Osbourne. If successful the cyber attacks could possibly gain control over the UK's electrical supply, air traffic control and hospitals, this could prove fatal if any of these are successfully targeted in a cyber attack and many lives could be lost. After attacks on Paris last Friday which resulted in 129 innocent civilians being killed we know ISIS are ruthless and not afraid to sacrifice their own lives in order to bring devastation to others. I personally think these threats made by ISIS could cause more extreme devastation if untreated as there may be some Islamicc State Militants capable of such a complicated cyberattack. It has been made evident from previous attacks ISIS do not hesitate to kill innocent people, making them extremely dangerous if capable of damaging such important systems in the UK. I think French President- Francois Hollande was right in declaring war and committing his country to 'destroying' ISIS as it is clear there is no possibility of negotiation, and unfortunately that there is only one motive that they have shown the world, which is to kill everyone who does not share their 'religion' or is not willing to be radicalised and follow them. Unfortunately many vulnerable people in various societies decide to join the so called Islamic State as they may feel like the group gives them a role making them feel important, this ultimately means many people all over the world will join the group as they may possibly believe in the 'religion', or are just bloodthirsty individuals who are committed to go to extreme limits in order to kill innocent people. In Conclusion I think the French President is right in what he said as they are an obvious threat to anyone not following them and that they do need to be 'destroyed', otherwise more travesties, like the one in Paris on Friday will be plotted by ISIS damaging communities all over the globe resulting in pain and sorrow for many innocent people.

Weekly News #6

Source:BBC WORLDS NEWS-  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-34772089

This week i gathered the information that Indonesian death row inmates are possibly to be guarded by crocodiles in the near distance future, even though the article did not possess much information on the subject it did state "You can't bribe Crocodiles". After seeing this article it reminded me of the extreme corruption many countries face all over the world, and  even though Indonesia had come to an almost comical result of using crocodiles as guards, it does clearly show there desperation as dangerous drug dealing related criminals are continuously escaping prison due to bribery happening inside the prison walls. After reading the article i saw a related article below about Indonesia to begin chemical castration for peadophiles, this brang me to realise that  Indonesia were combating crimes like drugs and peadolphillia in a very serious manner as appose to how the UK may deal with these crimes, leaving me unsure if the correct justice is served to many people who commit these crimes in the UK. In conclusion I personally thought the dangerous level of corruption in both countries was displayed by both articles as it shows power and money in many cases is enough to escape punishment, this shows the major injustice people suffer because of governments and organisations, like the prison guards being corrupt allowing dangerous powerful people back into the public and continuing to go through with illegal activities.

Censorship

Censorship can be used in multiple forms in the media in order to try and protect and prevent the vulnerable in society from being provoked or mentally scarred from various explicit content showed on a day to day basis. Many people argue against the use of censorship as it may destroy a message trying to be delivered in a song by replacing particular lyrics with less effective (more suitable) lyrics, I think as well as leaving the audience possibly un sure of the meaning of the song due to half of it missing or being filled in with words which make no sense, this could benefit certain listeners as violent or drug related descriptive lyrics could provoke them for the worse in reality. Censorship is used in the forms;age ratings, watershed, blurring and bleeping to cover up or stop certain people from seeing explicit content which involves drug taking, nudity and other topics that are deemed politically incorrect by our government.

I personally think censorship is key in preventing young and vulnerable people from thinking crime, drugs and domestic violence is the normality, as we know if young people grow up surrounded by t.v programmes which display these harmful, sensitive topics, they may begin to think that type of behaviour is acceptable in todays society. For example in recent times a young 17 year old male stabbed his girlfriend to death and dismembered her body after watching and becoming obsessed with the american tv series Dexter, this is a clear reminder that even though many people would never contemplate this horrific act, content like this where the protagonist is a cold blooded killer can become very influential to vulnerable individuals like this 17 year old leading to horrific acts. Even though i think the watershed is successful is stoping young children seeing content that may scare them, I think if you are like this 17 year old boy and obsessed with gory, horrific entertainment like 'Dexter' age ratings and watersheds are completely helpless as there are many ways illegally he could access and watch the series. This leaves me wondering if possible influential content like 'Dexter' and 'Breaking Bad' should ever be produced as both t.v series connote horrific crimes like murder and mass methamphetamine production to be almost positive, as we see Dexter as the best forensic blood splatter specialist in the USA and Walter White as a extremely talented chemist. Even though the t.v series may also show the consequences each suffer for their actions, I think the vulnerable people in society will be largely effected by this content and even gain inspiration like the 17 year old English boy, however because organisations like Netflix make so much money from t.v series like this, they are not willing to ban these shows purely because of the extremely large amount of money it makes for them, and ultimately this is all they care about, like how gun laws are dealt with in America.

In conclusion I think many methods of censorship are successful for younger audiences being exposed to content that may damage their innocent young minds, but most young people and adults are able to access almost any content through the internet in todays modern society, unfortunately meaning most people will definitely be exposed to content that may scar them mentally at one point in their lives.

Weekly news #5

In this weeks BBC world news IS have been named responsible by Russia as a Russian airbus was brought down holding 217 passengers including 25 children. The Egyptian President claims the area where the airbus was brought down in an area which is under their full control, and James Clapper ( US director of national intelligence) also said "there was no direct evidence of terrorist involvement yet", this possibly suggests that Russia were very quick to jump to conclusions that Islamic State Militants were responsible for this tragic incident, possibly showing their eagerness to become involved in another war. I personally think this incident is likely to trigger a war between Islamic State Militants and Russia as scientists believe the only explanation of the crash was either a bomb or fuel tank explosion. The Egyptian president thinks ISIS are using this as propaganda in order to damage the stability and security of Egypt which is also very possible. Overall this devastating incident shows that ISIS are a massive threat to many countries as if they are not killing to gain power, they will use propaganda in order to damage the security and reputation of countries (like Egypt).

Weekly News #4

I found an article on BBC World News about a young Yemeni boy named Fareed Shawky who was seriously injured after a missile hit his house in Yemen's third city of Taiz. A video of him being treated for his wounds (which contained very distressing images due to his inguries) was released on Facebook accumulating a large number of views . Now Thousands of Yemenis have began to use his words "Don't Bury Me" in order to appeal for an end in the conflict. I thought this could be compared to the young Syrian boy who caused the realisation of the severity of the migrant crisis to the world, just like how the video of this young Yemeni boy has caused upset resulting in people appealing against the bombings of civilians in Yemen. It is thought at least 2,300 civilians have already been killed (500 of them Children), I think it is sad that its only when a video or picture is released of children dying or already dead due to a certain war/crisis that people begin to feel sympathy towards the individuals suffering in the various wars around the globe. I think this article also displays the power of social media as Facebook meant people were allowed to share this video making more people aware of the current travesties happening in Yemen that people may not of been aware of, this could possibly result in more people appealing against the war in Yemen as they are now aware of it. This makes it clear that social media networks like Facebook have the potential to make a difference in the world due to many people being absorbed into the various social network sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ) and realising the severity of the circumstances due to the release of the pictures or videos, like this one of the young Yemeni boy.

Short Term 12 - Analysis

Short term 12 is a social realism drama which allows  the audience to gain a perspective on what its like for some children/teenagers who have been neglected or abused, the film is set in side a residential treatment facility where we get to to learn about the different characters inside the facility and some of the extreme mental and physical abuse they have endured through out their childhoods. I think the structure of the film was linear as we see a short glimpse of what life like in the facility in chronological order.

I thought the use of cinematography was very effective in making you feel like you were almost involved in their lives as shots taken from inside the rooms made you feel like you were actually there increasing the sympathy and emotion you felt for various characters throughout the film. Close ups were also often used in order to capture a clear facial expression of the character and convey the exact emotion they are feeling. For example we see a close up of Marcus as he raps about his mum and the shocking pain he had to endure because of her, in this scene the close up shows his eyes filling with tears as he continues to rap, this enhances the emotion and sympathy you feel for him as we can tell from his detailed facial expression just how severe his circumstances were. I think audio codes also helped during the film to give certain situations the severity they deserved, if the audio codes were not used in these situations it would not of been so suspenseful making it less effective on the audience. When we see Jayden run back into her room as she realises her Dad is not coming to pick her up she threatens to cut herself as she pushes on the door in order to keep staff members out, as they push back on the door in order to get to her the tempo of the music increases making us think something bad is going to happen as a build up of suspense is formed, when she eventually opens the door and they restrain her it switches back to her shouting as suspense is released as she does not harm herself, giving us a sense of relief. I think the shark and octopus story Jayden tells to Grace is one of the most hard hitting scenes in the film, I think this as Jayden is denoting the abuse she has had to endure in the form of a children's story, I thought her devastating childhood was told in the form of as kids story purposely in order to give a strong message to the audience, and ultimately show that many children do have to go through circumstances like her, leaving much of the audience reflecting on how lucky they are as there are children that go through these travesties in todays world.

I personally really liked this film as the visual and audio codes helped to create a realistic drama delivering a strong message to the audience, showing us that many children from all sorts of different ethnic backgrounds (as displayed in the film) have to go through some extremely tough circumstances and reminded me how lucky I am to not have to endure the physical/mental pain some people do in reality represented by the various characters in the film.

Weekly News #3

In this weeks news I found on the BBC website an article which stated 'MH17 Ukraine disaster: Dutch Safety Board blames missile' , I immediately knew this was about the Malaysian Airlines crash that occurred in 2014, in further research I discovered this was the deadliest airline shoot down to date. All 283 passengers and all 15 crew members died, this was obviously devastating to everyone who had family members who were involved in this disaster, but was only made worse when footage was released showing russian rebels looting the dead bodies of their remaining possessions. David Cameron branded the looting 'a sickening violation of a tragic scene' as he spoke about the tragedy, I agree with this statement as i think this represents that particular Russian rebel group as being disgusting people as they strip dead people of their identities by removing their passports and personal items, also delaying the investigation of the crash resulting in even more upset for the victims families.

The MH17 flight was supposedly in a no fly zone according to the Russian Government, Investigators later found the flight was over the 32,000 feet restriction zone, reading about the crash I constantly saw how the Russian rebels blamed the Ukrainian government and how the Ukrainian government claimed to have no part in the launching of the missile. All evidence points to the missile being fired by the Russian rebel group as it was identified as a Russian made missile fired from Russian rebel territory. However Rumours speculated at the time the Malaysian Airline flight was not the intended target of the missile, from the video evidence above we can see a Russian carrier plane refuelling and returning to base, apparently this was the intended target for Ukrainian forces but the MH17 flight was hit accidentally. Regardless of who fired the missile I personally think it is scary how these missiles can be accidentally fired towards passenger planes by small groups of people (like the Russian rebels at the base) and cause so much devastation so quickly due to human error.

Crash Analysis

Crash is a realistic drama which interweaves the lives of people living in Los Angeles, giving us a viewpoint on how different people are viewed and treated due to perdomedently the colour of their skin, there are also the themes of class and family but i thought race was the central theme throughout the film. I think Paul Haggis cleverly uses a non-linear structure in order to keep the audience engaged in the film due to a sense of mystery about each of the characters as we get to know them better, he uses stereotypes at first to make us feel a certain way about the individual characters (like how the two black men steal a car using guns). This makes the audience think the two men are nothing but criminals as they carry guns and steal cars for a job, as their individual storylines climax we get to see the men are not who we first see them to be as one is religious and the other gives freedom to the lives of people who may be sold into slavery. We also realise the two men are not murderers as one of them gets beat up due to not being able to kill the man while attempting to steal his car, I thought that the two men may of been stealing cars because they maybe found it hard to get a normal job at the time due to racism towards Black people at that time in America.

I think Paul Haggis uses the most trusted (possibly most likeable character (the young white police man) to commit the only successful murder in the film as this crime informs the audience anyone is capable of murder whatever colour you're skin,we know he carried out the murder as he thought the black guy had a gun when really it was a religious statue, he may of thought the man was carrying a gun due to the stereotypical thought of black men being dangerous criminals, this view could of possibly been passed on to him from his former partner who we know to be racist.

In conclusion I think Paul haggis was very successful in the creating of the film, as he used a variety of peoples lives from different ethnic backgrounds, race and class to show us that even though racial stereotypes may make us think a certain way about a certain person, we are all capable of the same things ( mainly shown by the young white man committing a murder), I also thought that the love and compassion the different people expressed towards different people at the end of the film emphasised that we are all the same and capable of loving someone whatever their skin colour, as we see the rich white women telling her maid that she is her best friend as she was there for her when she needed her most.

Weekly News #2

In this weeks news a man called 'Chris Harper Mercer' opened fire in a class room in Oregon killing nine people and then himself when police arrived to the scene. He left a letter explaining his grievances, the man was supposedly having dating problems and his mum explained him to be suffering from mental problems (Aspurge's Syndrome). This yet again makes it clear to us something needs to be done about gun laws in America as this is the 994th mass shooting in the US since Newtown and around the 300th this year alone (according to the guardian). I think the gun laws need to change immediately  as almost anyone over the age of 18 can buy a gun, even if suffering from a mental illness like Chris Harper was, these gun laws create a severe threat to anyone in America as we found out in the Newtown were Adam Lanaz  shot 20 children and 6 staff in a elementary school. This event created an up rise and prompted background checks to be put in place for people buying guns, and the banning of certain firearms containing more than 10 rounds of ammunition. I personally think it is disgusting how America continue to sell guns as mass shootings like this continue to happen all over the country in unbelievable numbers, it shows the extreme greed of America as they are willing to sell guns and ammo just because they make millions on the taxing of guns. Federal taxes on guns reached a high of 875 million in 2013, this was the year after the mass killing in the elementary school, these shocking facts show Americans still  want guns maybe for protection, sport or to carry out a mass killing but because the government make so much money from taxing the guns they are not willing ban them any time soon.

Weekly News #1

I looked at the website 'The Week UK' and  found out apple may be facing a ban in Russia due to ' promoting homophobic relationships' in the form of emojis in their most recent update, this makes it obvious to us that the discrimination of gay people is still happening in todays world. A shocking 37% of Russians described homosexuality as a 'disease that needs to be cured' -according to the Moscow times, this immediately infers that many Russian people are not willing to adapt to a more modern way of life were in many countries people are allowed to be open about their sexuality and even marry in same sex relationships. It also may shock many people over the world that someone with a high end job like Vitaly Milonov could have such strong opinions on the subject, and put laws in place (the homosexual propaganda law) to stop the promotion of gay relationships in front of minors. The news also mentions how he tried to get Tim Cook (Apple CEO) banned from Russia after he came out as gay, and how he wanted face book to be blocked because of its 'rainbow tool', this gives us the impression Milonov could be a homophobic extremist as this news informs us how small things like the apple emoji displaying a gay or lesbian couple could trigger him to take action against one of the biggest technology company's in the world. I think Vitaly Milonov could be compared to someone like Hitler who prosecuted people due to their sexuality. Milonov may not be prosecuting gay people in Russia yet as he is only a politician but he clearly has a very strong opinion on the subject and his influence in Russian politics and the media  is evident and he could be persuading many Russian people that homosexuality is wrong, this could lead to many people acting differently towards people just because of their sexuality, just like how Hitler persuaded people from all over the world that Jewish people were responsible for the economic crisis resulting in the Holocaust. I personally think that an investigation over a emoji displaying a gay relationship is ridiculous as most people in today's world do not think this a violation as it is considered normal and accepted in many community's as it does not effect peoples lives in any way.

Apple Watch – Us

This advertisement was released by Apple promoting their new product the 'Apple Watch',I think this particular advert was constructed in order to show the everyday uses of the watch for people in relationships. I think Apple were clever in making sure the Apple Watch was represented in the advert by people from different ethnic backgrounds and shown in many different settings, this means the advert has a much bigger target audience, and will allow a variety of different people to relate to the everyday situations people are shown in.

In the advert the facial expressions and body language differs throughout as we experience various people going through different emotions in their relationships, this makes the Apple Watch seem like it could be very useful in many normal everyday occurrences ( from buying flowers quickly and easily in order to impress you're loved one, to quickly paying for a room using the watch) as everything that happens in the advert could happen in reality. Apple make sure of this in order for their audience to relate to the different settings and situations and think about when the watch could impact their own relationships or lives for the better.

Close-up shots of the watch are used a lot during the advert, this could be to emphasise how easily accessible and simple to use the watch is (like how it is shown paying for flowers simply by tapping it onto the scanner) or maybe they are used to show the aesthetics of the watch in detail. The tempo of the music increases and more instruments are added to the soundtrack as the advert goes on and the emotions get stronger towards the end, we see 3 scenes continuously of people making love suggesting to the audience this product could improve you're relationship dramatically. Apple may of also included people going through hard times in their relationships to make the advert more realistic (so that it seems like the watch is useful whatever situation you are in) , and again so more people can relate to the different emotions experienced in the advert whether it be happy or sad.
